MEMBERSHIPS
KW Cycling Academy offers a range of memberships designed for all interests and skill levels. Memberships allow access to a variety of programs and services (See Programs & Services for more information).
Memberships and required Ontario Cycling (OC) insurance are available from CCNBikes via the JOIN KWCA link.

KWCA 2025 Novice Membership (Non-Competitive)
Who: Entry level riding/training for our youngest / least experienced MTB riders, ages 3-11 years old
Cost: $200.00/year plus Ontario Cycling Community insurance
Insurance: All KWCA Novice members must purchase a 2025 Ontario Community Membership for insurance
Included:
Primary programming delivered at Breithaupt Park in Kitchener on Tuesday evenings (5:30pm - 7pm)
Develop bike riding and handling skills, safety skills and build endurance and fitness
Riders progress from skills games to short trail rides, and can join MTB trail rides at the Hydrocut and other locations if developmentally appropriate

MTB Indoor Skills program at Queensmount
KWCA 2025 RECREATIONAL (NON-COMPETITIVE) MEMBERSHIP (YOUTH & ADULT)
Who: Ideal membership for those riders who want to build skills, ride for fun, and volunteer to lead novice rides, but are not (yet) interested in competition. This membership will allow athletes to try a few Regional races (e.g. Kelso MTB Series) and participate in one Ontario Cup race as a trial.
Cost: $275/year plus insurance
Insurance: All KWCA members must purchase a 2025 Community Membership (19 & younger) or Ontario Challenge License for insurance.
Included:
Access to all Road, MTB, and Track weekly training rides
Access to Virtual training sessions (seasonal on Zoom/Zwift)
Skill Sessions (invitation based on skill level & age eligibility)
Available at additional cost:
MTB Winter Skills program at Queensmount
Option to participate in fun 6 hour or 24 hour team relay races
Track time rental or membership (FCV or Milton Velodrome)

KWCA 2025 - Racing (Competitive) Membership - U13 & U15
Who: Ideal membership for U13 & U15 athletes that are interested in training and racing competitively in local, regional, Ontario Cup and National events as part of the Team Liftow p/b KW Cycling Academy race team.
Cost: $450 / year plus Ontario Cycling Compete License or UCI License
Insurance: All KWCA Racing members must purchase a 2025 Ontario Compete license or UCI license for insurance. A UCI license is required for out of province or international racing, and national championship events. Only one license is required.
Included:
Access to all Road, MTB, and Track weekly training programs and rides.
Access to all Road, MTB, and Track training projects (e.g. spring training project in southern USA)
Access to and support at all KWCA supported Road, MTB, and Track race events including Kelso MTB races, O-cups, Provincials, Nationals, and various out of province / out of country races
Daily training prescriptions (TrainingPeaks platform) to help raise fitness & power levels
Quarterly Functional Threshold Power (FTP) assessments to monitor fitness improvements, and form the basis of training plans, for our competitive athletes
Unlimited Text / Phone contacts for training advice
Recommended supports to be purchased by the athlete (supports prescriptive training plans):
TrainingPeaks Premium ($125 USD/year). This allows the input of scheduled activities as well as improved access to performance data, and allows for monitoring of fatigue, fitness, and form by both athletes and coaches. A free version is available but has limited functionality. Please discuss which options are most appropriate for the athlete’s needs.
Cycling computer (Garmin or Wahoo)
Heart rate monitor (compatible with cycling computer)
Indoor smart trainer required to pair with virtual training platforms
Zwift membership for indoor training (free youth membership for youth under 16)
Power meter (optional) and only recommended for high performance athletes.
Please discuss requirements specific to your athlete with coaches.

Track time rental or membership (FCV, Bromont or Milton Velodrome)
Race entry fees, travel, and project fees are actual costs (do not include any buffer). Estimates are provided prior to commitment, and costs are invoiced based on actual costs upon return from specific Projects.
