WELCOME TO LIFTOW p/b KW CYCLING ACADEMY
WHO WE ARE
Kitchener Waterloo Cycling Academy (KWCA) was incorporated as a not-for-profit in Ontario in 2018, and is affiliated with Ontario Cycling & Cycling Canada. Our primary focus has been developing programs to encourage youth to get involved in recreational and competitive cycling in Ontario, nationally, and internationally. Our volunteer-based club / team offers MTB, Road, Track, and Cyclo-cross programs, and is proud to have current & former members representing Canada internationally and competing as professional athletes. The KWCA organization is run by volunteers who love to cycle and are passionate about developing cycling skills in athletes. Coaching staff and many of our ride leaders have been developing youth for over 25 years.
The KWCA grass roots program, aimed at developing skills and safe cycling, has over 65 youth (4-11 years old) attending weekly planned cycling activities. As youth gain experience, they graduate to weekly group MTB and road rides taking place at the Hydrocut, on Waterloo Region roads, and track cycling at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre in Milton or Forest City Velodrome in London.
Those interested in competition can join our high-performance program and race team Liftow – KW Cycling Academy. Team Liftow–KW Cycling Academy currently has 35 athletes competing at U11, U13, U15, U17, U19 & U23 levels. These athletes are achieving podiums and championship titles at provincial, national, and international competitions.
While our programs focus on cyclists under age 25, they are also available for adults. KWCA proudly supports cyclists from Waterloo Region and throughout Ontario. Whether your family rides the road or trails, and whether your interest is recreational or competitive, we have a program for you and your family. We look forward to supporting our members as they progress through our cycling programs.
